Be Very Afraid

I got an email from Eden Brothers and pulled up their website. It is a very lovely website and they seemed to have some of the less common flowers. I added and subtracted from my cart until I got it down to around $200. I put in my billing information and then thought - wait a minute. I hadn't checked out this company on Sitejabber. After reading dismal reviews I went back to the site and exited out. Unfortunately, I did not erase my billing information before doing so. I never tapped on the place order tab so I figured I was good. A couple of months later I got a box full of plants, bulbs and seeds! It wasn't even time to plant them plus we had a really late spring this year. We were still getting freeze warnings when they arrived. I pulled up their website again to find out how to return their shipment. When I found the section on returns my jaw dropped. They have no warranty and do not accept returns! What kind of reputable company does this. First they send an order I didn't even ask for and now they won't take it back. I've planted the bulbs. So far the liatris is just beginning to pop up. No lilies so far. I planted the Phlox seeds and again nothing so far. There was a package of caper seeds I'm sure wasn't on my order because I don't like capers and they only grow in zones 9-11. I'm in zone 5 but of course I was charged for them. The plants all died while waiting to be planted except two and one one of those has since died. The other one is barely hanging on so we'll see if it makes a comeback in the spring. I won't hold my breath. Eden Brothers should not even be in business. They lack all forms of honesty and integrity. They provide no customer service whatsoever but, I guess there's no need since they don't stand behind what they sell. I say run don't walk from this company. They took major advantage of me once but they will never get that opportunity again.

Disappointed

Last year I ordered five assorted colors of irises; they were very expensive, but when they bloomed this year, they were all lavender colored small blooms. I was extremely disappointed. I guess I should have bought them locally at Lowe's.

I have only purchased seeds from this…

I have only purchased seeds from this company NOT bulbs thus can only comment on seeds .

Be it zinnia , sunflower , marigold and assorted vegetable seeds they have done incredibly well .

Having used this company happily for…

Having used this company happily for years, in early October this year I place two orders for Fall-planted bulbs. There was no emailed acknowledgement. That should have been my first clue. Then I waited. And waited. Then I called. Oh yes, they are on their way, I was told. Today, NOVEMBER 29, I called again. A perky "Stacey" chirped that "oh, yes, I see we are just getting those bulbs in now." WHAT? I live in Chicago. As she can see from my history. The ground is almost frozen. As it is most Decembers. No email from the company saying that the shipment would be delayed. I got instead some self-absolving, pat, and entirely disingenuous excuse that there were both shipping and communications problems. There was no asking what, now that the ground is rock solid it being almost December, I would like them to do. When none came, I told them to cancel the orders, make a full refund, and that I would find somewhere else to shop in future. Yes, we all know there are problems but we all also know that you retain custom by treating your customers with a modicum of politeness, professional or otherwise. Stacey obviously could not have cared. Her only concern was excusing (not apologizing for) the company's total lack less professionalism. I suspect they will exercise their demonstrated disregard for their customers when it comes to issuing my refund. There are many other nurseries out there. I will be using one of them in future.

Disappointing online order experience

We ordered two bags of 2-bulbs-each canna lillies from this vendor. Unfortunately we could not select a preferred shipping method, nor shipment tracking, when ordering.
Confirmation from the vendor was immediate, and was limited to confirmed payment and identity of items and amounts ordered.
All subsequent responses from vendor when asked for shipment updates were incomplete and at times snidely sarcastic.
No communication was ever received by us for when the order would be filled, nor when it would be shipped. We understand pandemic staffing has hit everyone's ability to staff and support stocked items that are in demand. The pandemic should not have caused Customer Service to forget how to update and respond customers.
After receiving a few more incomplete and borderline snide responses for update requests, we received a shipping notification (which included the method).
This vendor chose to ship past-planting-date bulbs via USPS, during a drought.
We received the box, which was partially opened and crushed, with half of the order. There was no shipping information nor manifest identification inside.
In the plus side, the bulbs appear to be in good shape, so they're going in a deep pot immediately. Not the ground, as we have no confidence that these may not carry a disease - based on the vendor's lack of giving a damn about any customer communications.
We can't imagine any time in the future when we would use this vendor again.

The customer service was super helpful

The customer service was super helpful. They emailed you back within a day. The plants I have received have all been healthy. I did get the wrong set of plants in one order. But they gave me half my money back with 20% discount.

I bought pumpkin seeds from the Eden…

I bought pumpkin seeds from the Eden Brothers was last year and you could say it was an unforgettable experience! :) My plants blossomed. They were beautiful. In fact they were so beautiful that a Gopher ate them LOL but I hadn't known I had to precautions against that around here. Anyway I'd never seen pumpkin blossoms before and some critter out there enjoying dining on all my pumpkins! It's funny to look back on now and I'm glad I applied myself at least enough to see what it's like for something I planted by hand to grow. Those blossoms had been as pretty as tropical Hawaiian flowers! And it cheered me up to see them again after returning from a mandatory fire evacuation here in California. They were the nicest thing I had to come home to at that point in time!
